About exhibition

A dialogue between different techniques and points of view of eleven artists will be presented at the "Winter Stories" exhibition. Artists Milija Čpajak, Bogdan Đukanović, Maja Gajić, Irena Kuzmanović, Lena Milovanović, Nikola Pešić, Lazar Stojić, Vanja Subotić, Marija Šević, Ivan Šuković and Ivan Šuletić present their significant works created in recent years.

Milija Čpajak completed his BA and MA studies in sculpture at the Faculty of Fne Arts in Belgrade. He earned a French Government scolarship to spend one semester of his MA studies at the École nationale Supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris (2017). Through exhibiting his work and participating in different art projects he has been an active member of the art scene since completing his studies. He won the “Niš Art Foundation” competition second prize (2017) and travelled to Korea in the same year where he received recognition for a sculpture that he realized by taking part in a group exhibition. As a guest artist of the “Marble and Sounds” event in Aranđelovac, he created a public space sculpture (2020). Since 2021, he has been collaborating with Novembar gallery, which represents and exhibits him. Together with Novembar gallery, he realizes a solo exhibition (2021), numerous group exhibitions and participates in Art Market Budapest (2021). Exhibits at the Italian Embassy in Belgrade at the exhibition “Presenza tattile” (2023).

Bogdan Djukanović completed his undergraduate and master's academic studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, during which he was a part of a student exchange at the Academy of Fine Arts in Xi’an, China. He continued his artistic improvement at the Beaux-Arts de Paris in France. Djukanovic's works have been exhibited extensively at significant local and international exhibitions dedicated to emerging artists. He is the founder of the student experimental space Flu OpenLab in Belgrade. Throughout his studies, he was awarded several times for his work so far. He is a member of the Association of United Responsibility (D.U.O.) within the creative platform of the Goethe-Institut in Belgrade, as well as the Young Art program of the DOTS Foundation from Novi Sad.

Maja Gajić completed the Bogdan Suput High School of Design in 2010, followed by undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, in the year 2023. She is a recipient of three awards in the fields of drawing, painting, and graphics. Since 2020, she has been teaching drawing and painting at the Bogdan Suput High School of Design in Novi Sad. In addition to painting, she also works in the media of drawing, graphics, photography, and sculpture.

Irena Kuzmanović completed Bachelor degree studies - Department of Applied Art, Faculty of Applied Arts, Belgrade, generation student in 2012. Master degree studies she completed at the same faculty, class of prof. Nikola Božović in 2015. During her studies she was granted a scholarship by both the City of Belgrade and the Republic of Serbia. Also, she was awarded a scholarship by Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia "Dositej". She had 8 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 40 group exhibitions in the country and abroad. In 2020 she gained the status of a freelance artist; Since 2022 a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Belgrade; Chosen as a professional associate-demonstrator during her doctorate studies. She is the winner of four awards for painting, one special award, and one commendation. Apart from private collections, the works of art are in the collection of the "Marriot" hotel in Belgrade, the work "Ephemerality" and in the National Museum Šabac, the work "S(c)enes I-IX" - Purchased by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. Lives and works in Belgrade.

Lena Milovanović graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2020 in the class of professor Mileta Prodanović. She is currently attending doctoral art studies at the same faculty. She received the award of the faculty of Fine Arts for the best drawing – a large format study in 2016. She is the winner of the Dositeja scholarship of the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia. From 2021 to 2023 the participant of the DOTS Foundation's Young Art Program for promotion and financing of young artists.

Nikola Pešić graduated at the Painting Department (1998) and earned his Masters Degree in Sculpture (2002) at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. With support of the German grant DAAD, he completed his postgraduate studies of Sculpture at the State Academy of Visual Arts in Stuttgart (Germany). He earned his PhD at the Philological Faculty in Belgrade in 2016. From 1997 on, he exhibited in numerous solo and group shows, such as October Salon, or important overviews of contemporary art in Serbia, such as “Selection from the Nineties” (Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade), “Step towards the Art of the Nineties” (Belgrade City Museum), “Critics Choice” (Cultural Center Belgrade), “Collection of the Contemporary Sculpture” (Contemporary Art Gallery Niš), etc. His works are in numerous private, public, and museum collections.

Lazar Stojić graduated in 2021 in the class of professors Mrdjan Bajic and Rados Antonijevic at the sculpture department of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. He is currently doing his master studies in the sculpture department at the faculty of Fine Arts HFBK in Hamburg. He participated in numerous group exhibitions and art projects in the country and abroad. Lazar is the winner of the Award for the Artistic innovation from the Miloš Bajic Fund. Together with Bogdan Đukanović, he is the author of a sculpture that is permanently located in the hall of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. From 2021 to 2023 he is a participant of the Young Art Program of the DOTS Foundation (Novi Sad) that promotes and finances young artists.

Vanja Subotić lives and works in Subotica. She graduated in Novi Sad at the Department of Fine Arts and conducted both Bachelor and Master Studies in Painting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia. From 2021 to 2023 the participant of the DOTS Foundation's Young Art Program for promotion and financing of young artists.

Marija Šević graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2011, where she also received an MA in painting. As a scholar of the French government, she resided at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the classes of professors Claude Closky and James Rielly. She is a co-founding member of U10 art space in Belgrade, working on managing exhibitions and events. She exhibited in solo and groups shows in Belgrade, Rome, Milan, London,Vienna, Basel, Los Angeles, Brasilia etc.
She currently lives and works in Belgrade.

Ivan Šuković earned his Ph.D. from the University of Arts in Belgrade, the Multimedia Art Department, in 2019. He received his Master of Arts degree from the Department of Digital Art and New Media in Belgrade, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from the Faculty of Philosophy, the University of Montenegro. Representative of Montenegro at the 59th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale in 2022.
He had several solo exhibitions in the period from 2011 to 2021 and presented his work in group exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, and Italy in addition to the countries in the region. He has received several awards for his work. His work is included in some museum and private collections.

Ivan Šuletić graduated in 2007 and earned his doctoral degree in fine arts in 2015 at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. He has exhibited his works at numerous exhibitions and within curatorial projects in Serbia and abroad. His works are featured in several public and private collections, such as the Belgrade City Museum, European Patent Office Art Collection in Munich, Wiener Städtische Contemporary Art Collection, Niš Art Foundation et al. Šuletić is the winner of the Vladimir Veličković Foundation Award for Contemporary Drawing in 2018, Award “Likovna Jesen” in 2016, and the Second Prize for Painting by Niš Art Foundation in 2015. He currently works at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade as an Assistant Professor.
